💧 Key Benefits

  • NSF-60 Certified – safe for drinking water RO systems
  • Controls silica scaling and prevents deposits from CaCO₃, CaSO₄, BaSO₄, SrSO₄, and CaF₂
  • Effectively disperses iron and silica to prevent membrane fouling
  • Extends RO membrane life and enhances plant performance
  • Food-grade, environment-friendly, and non-toxic formulation
  • High chemical stability ensures consistent inhibition under variable feed conditions
  • Economical and easy-to-dose, available in 5 kg & 20 kg packs

📌 Technical Properties

  • Appearance: Yellow to brown liquid
  • pH (as supplied): 4.00 – 5.00
  • Specific Gravity: 1.00 – 1.20
  • Solubility: Completely miscible in water
  • Certification: NSF-60 (food grade compliant)

🚰 Usage & Dosing

  • Typical dosage: 3–5 ppm, adjustable depending on feed water quality and operating parameters
  • Maximum dosage limit for drinking water: 20 ppm
  • Dose continuously before the cartridge filter using a metering/dosing pump
  • Follow RO membrane manufacturer’s recommendations for fine-tuning dosage

🛡️ Safety & Handling

  • Always wear protective gloves, safety goggles, and mask while handling
  • Avoid ingestion and prolonged skin contact
  • In case of eye contact, rinse with clean, cold water and seek medical help
  • Store in a cool, shaded area away from direct sunlight
  • Keep the container tightly closed when not in use

❓ How To Use

  1. Install a Dosing Pump: RO antiscalant should be dosed using a metering/dosing pump installed before the RO high-pressure pump, usually in the feed water line.
  2. Prepare the Antiscalant Solution: Dilute the antiscalant with RO permeate water or clean soft water in a dosing tank if required. Typical dilution ratios range from 1:10 to 1:20, depending on system design.
  3. Set the Correct Dosage: The normal dosage is 2–5 ppm, but the exact dose depends on feed water quality (TDS, hardness, silica, etc.). A water analysis or projection software may be used to determine the correct dosage.
  4. Continuous Dosing: The chemical must be dosed continuously whenever the RO plant is running to prevent scale formation on membranes.
  5. Monitor System Performance: Regularly check membrane pressure, flow rate, and recovery rate to ensure scaling is properly controlled.

⚙️ How It Works

RO antiscalants are specially formulated chemicals designed to prevent scale formation on reverse osmosis membranes.

  1. Scale Inhibition: Antiscalants interfere with the crystallization process of scaling salts such as calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, barium sulfate, and silica, preventing them from forming solid deposits.
  2. Crystal Modification: They change the structure of scale crystals, making them too small and irregular to attach to membrane surfaces.
  3. Dispersion Effect: Antiscalants disperse suspended particles and micro-crystals in water so they remain suspended and pass through the system instead of sticking to the membrane.
  4. Membrane Protection: By preventing scale buildup, antiscalants help maintain higher membrane efficiency, stable permeate flow, and longer membrane life.
