💧 Key Benefits

  • Controls scaling up to +2.6 LSI
  • Prevents deposits from sulfates, carbonates (Ca, Mg, Ba, Sr), and phosphates
  • Tolerant to iron, magnesium & aluminum hydroxide precipitation
  • Works across a wide pH range, reducing or eliminating acid dosing
  • Improves RO performance by enabling higher recovery rates
  • Reduces feed water requirement and lowers reject water volume
  • Safe, non-hazardous formulation suitable for continuous use

📌 Technical Properties

  • Appearance: Clear colorless to yellow liquid
  • pH: 2 – 5
  • Freezing Point: < –5 °C
  • Solubility: Miscible with water in all proportions
  • Specific Gravity: 1.05 – 1.10

🚰 Usage & Dosing

  • Dose continuously upstream of the cartridge filter
  • Typical dosage: 3–10 mg/l
  • Fully miscible with water; can be diluted
  • Fresh solutions should be prepared daily

🛡️ Safety & Handling

Aquaclean 4036V is a non-hazardous blend of phosphonates and carboxylic acids. It is compatible with carbon steel and most standard RO system materials. Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) available upon request.

❓ How To Use

  1. Install a Dosing Pump: RO antiscalant should be dosed using a metering/dosing pump installed before the RO high-pressure pump, usually in the feed water line.
  2. Prepare the Antiscalant Solution: Dilute the antiscalant with RO permeate water or clean soft water in a dosing tank if required. Typical dilution ratios range from 1:10 to 1:20, depending on system design.
  3. Set the Correct Dosage: The normal dosage is 2–5 ppm, but the exact dose depends on feed water quality (TDS, hardness, silica, etc.). A water analysis or projection software may be used to determine the correct dosage.
  4. Continuous Dosing: The chemical must be dosed continuously whenever the RO plant is running to prevent scale formation on membranes.
  5. Monitor System Performance: Regularly check membrane pressure, flow rate, and recovery rate to ensure scaling is properly controlled.

⚙️ How It Works

RO antiscalants are specially formulated chemicals designed to prevent scale formation on reverse osmosis membranes.

  1. Scale Inhibition: Antiscalants interfere with the crystallization process of scaling salts such as calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, barium sulfate, and silica, preventing them from forming solid deposits.
  2. Crystal Modification: They change the structure of scale crystals, making them too small and irregular to attach to membrane surfaces.
  3. Dispersion Effect: Antiscalants disperse suspended particles and micro-crystals in water so they remain suspended and pass through the system instead of sticking to the membrane.
  4. Membrane Protection: By preventing scale buildup, antiscalants help maintain higher membrane efficiency, stable permeate flow, and longer membrane life.
