INDION® MB 6 SR (Refill Pack) is a premium mixed bed ion exchange resin specially formulated for producing high-purity demineralized water. It consists of a carefully proportioned mixture of super regenerated strong acid cation exchange resin (INDION® 223) in the hydrogen (H⁺) form and strong base Type I anion exchange resin (INDION® GS 300) in the hydroxide (OH⁻) form, supplied in a volume ratio of 1:2.
This ready-to-use refill pack delivers excellent polishing performance by removing the remaining dissolved ionic impurities after primary demineralization. It is widely used in mixed bed polishers, laboratory water purification systems, pharmaceutical plants, electronics manufacturing, power plants, and other applications requiring high-purity water.

🔧 Installation & Operating Guidelines
- Install the refill pack in a clean mixed bed ion exchange vessel.
- Ensure the vessel and internals are free from contamination before filling.
- Backwash and rinse the resin bed before placing the unit into service if recommended by the system manufacturer.
- Prevent exposure of the resin to atmospheric air for extended periods, as this may convert the resin to the carbonate form.
- Always keep resin containers tightly closed until use.
- Follow the equipment manufacturer's operating and regeneration procedures.
- Replace or regenerate the resin when treated water quality no longer meets system requirements.
⚙️ How It Works
INDION® MB 6 SR combines strong acid cation resin and strong base anion resin in a carefully controlled ratio to simultaneously remove positively and negatively charged ions from water. As water passes through the mixed resin bed, dissolved salts are exchanged for hydrogen (H⁺) and hydroxide (OH⁻) ions. These ions immediately combine to form pure water (H₂O), producing highly demineralized water with very low conductivity and high resistivity.
This mixed bed configuration provides superior polishing compared to separate cation and anion beds, making it ideal for applications requiring the highest water purity.
🥽 Safety & Handling
- Store the resin in its original sealed container.
- Never allow the resin to dry out.
- Keep containers tightly closed to minimize exposure to atmospheric air.
- Store in a cool, shaded location.
- Handle regeneration acids and alkalis with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Prevent eye and skin contact with regeneration chemicals.
- Follow standard industrial safety procedures during handling and regeneration.

⚠️ Limitations and Precautions
- Exposure to atmospheric air should be minimized, as it can convert the resin to the carbonate form.
- The resin should never be allowed to dry during storage or operation.
- Containers should remain tightly sealed until installation.
- Fouling by suspended solids, oil, or organic contaminants can reduce resin performance.
- Proper pretreatment improves resin life and operating efficiency.
- Regeneration chemicals must be handled safely using appropriate protective equipment.
- Performance depends on proper operating conditions and system design.
