🌊 Applications

When pressure is applied through the 1/4” BSP bottom connection, it acts on an internal Bourdon tube inside the gauge.
As the pressure increases, the tube flexes and moves the needle across the calibrated dial.

The glycerin filling absorbs shocks and vibrations, preventing needle flutter and ensuring:
Smooth needle movement
Stable readings
Longer internal component life

This makes the gauge ideal for systems with pressure surges or pulsating flow.

🔧 How to install

Installing a Bottom Connection Pressure Gauge

  1. Turn off the system pressure and ensure the pipeline or equipment is fully depressurized before installation.
  2. Check the thread size of the gauge (commonly 1/4″ BSP or 3/8″ BSP) and ensure it matches the pipeline fitting.
  3. Apply PTFE tape (Teflon tape) or suitable thread sealant to the male threads of the gauge to prevent leakage.
  4. Carefully screw the gauge into the bottom threaded port of the pipeline, valve, or manifold.
  5. Tighten using a spanner on the hex fitting provided near the thread. Avoid applying force on the gauge body.
  6. Ensure the dial faces outward and is clearly visible for easy monitoring.
  7. Slowly open the system pressure and check for leaks. Tighten slightly if necessary.
