The 10" × 54" FRP Filter Vessel is a versatile pressure vessel designed for water filtration, activated carbon filtration, iron removal, water softening and RO pre-treatment systems.

Manufactured from Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP), the vessel provides good resistance to rust, corrosion and moisture while offering a lightweight and durable solution for water treatment applications.

Its 10-inch diameter and 54-inch height provide a larger media bed compared with compact FRP vessels, making it suitable for residential, commercial and small industrial water treatment systems.

The vessel can be fitted with a suitable top-mount multiport or automatic control valve and filled with the appropriate filtration media according to the treatment requirement.

💧 Key Benefits

Corrosion Resistant

FRP construction offers good resistance to rust and corrosion, making the vessel suitable for continuous use in water treatment environments.

Larger Filtration Capacity

The 10" × 54" configuration provides a larger media bed than smaller FRP vessels, allowing it to handle higher filtration requirements.

Lightweight & Easy to Install

FRP construction makes the vessel easier to transport, position and install compared with many conventional metal vessels.

Versatile Application

The vessel can be used for different treatment processes by selecting the appropriate filtration media.

Low Maintenance

FRP construction eliminates the need for regular painting and conventional anti-rust protection, helping reduce maintenance requirements.

Ideal for RO Pre-Treatment

It can be incorporated into RO pre-treatment systems for applications such as sediment filtration, carbon filtration, iron removal and softening.

📌 Technical Properties

  • Product Type: FRP Filter Vessel
  • Vessel Size: 10" × 54"
  • Material: Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP)
  • Construction: FRP composite pressure vessel
  • Installation: Vertical
  • Valve Configuration: Top Mount
  • Application: Pressure water filtration
  • Suitable Media: Filter Sand, Activated Carbon, Softening Resin, Iron Removal Media and other compatible media
  • Operation: Manual or automatic, depending on valve configuration
  • Colour: Typically Blue
  • Maintenance: Low
  • Suitable For: Residential, commercial and small industrial water treatment systems

Operating pressure, connection size, media capacity and recommended flow rate may vary according to the specific manufacturer/model.

📏 Dimensions

  • Diameter: 10 inches
  • Height: 54 inches
  • Overall Vessel Size: 10" × 54"
  • Approximate Geometric Volume: 68 litres
  • Approximate Internal Volume: 67–68 litres
  • Installation: Vertical
  • Valve Position: Top Mount
  • Design: Vertical, space-efficient configuration

The actual usable media volume is lower than the total internal vessel volume because adequate freeboard and distributor space must be maintained.

🌊 Applications

  • Pressure Sand Filtration
  • Activated Carbon Filtration
  • Iron Removal Systems
  • Water Softener Systems
  • Multi-Media Filtration
  • Residential Water Filtration
  • Commercial Water Treatment
  • Borewell Water Treatment
  • RO Pre-Treatment
  • Process Water Filtration
  • Pre-Filtration Systems
  • Small Industrial Water Treatment

🪨 Common Media Selection

  • Water Filtration Sand – for reducing suspended solids, turbidity and particulate matter.
  • Activated Carbon – for reducing chlorine, odour, taste and certain organic contaminants.
  • Iron Removal Media – for reducing dissolved iron under suitable water chemistry and operating conditions.
  • Cation Exchange Resin – for reducing hardness in water softening applications.
  • Multi-Media Combinations – for enhanced particulate and turbidity removal.
  • Specialized Filtration Media – selected according to the specific raw-water contaminants and treatment objective.

Media selection should be based on raw water analysis, required flow rate, media specifications and desired treated-water quality.

🔧 How to Install

  1. Position the vessel vertically on a stable and level surface.
  2. Install a compatible top-mount multiport or automatic control valve.
  3. Ensure the internal distributor/strainer assembly is correctly installed.
  4. Add the recommended underbed material, where applicable.
  5. Fill the vessel with the specified filtration media.
  6. Maintain adequate freeboard above the media bed.
  7. Connect the inlet, outlet and drain lines according to the valve configuration.
  8. Check all connections for leakage.
  9. Perform an initial backwash and rinse cycle before filtration.
  10. Start normal operation within the recommended flow and pressure limits.

For softener applications, connect the vessel to a suitable brine tank and regeneration system.

Important: All installation, commissioning, and servicing work must be carried out only by qualified water-treatment professionals. Improper or unprofessional installation may result in equipment or plant failure, potentially creating serious or fatal safety hazards. It may also lead to contaminated or poor-quality water, which can cause health risks, damage to industrial machinery, and operational failures.

⚙️ How it Works

The FRP vessel holds a selected filtration media bed through which water flows under pressure.

  1. Raw water enters through the top-mounted control valve.
  2. Water flows downward through the filtration media.
  3. The media captures, adsorbs or exchanges the targeted impurities.
  4. Treated water reaches the bottom distributor.
  5. The distributor collects and directs the filtered water toward the outlet.
  6. When the media becomes loaded with impurities, a backwash cycle is performed where applicable.
  7. The vessel is rinsed before returning to normal filtration mode.

The actual contaminants removed depend on the type and quantity of media installed.
